Cruciform cloister basin on the uppermost terrace
The image shows one of the four basins of the cruciform cloister structure on the uppermost terrace (also known as Bakan) of Angkor Wat in Siem Reap, Cambodia.

The term cruciform cloister is used in architecture to describe a cross-like covered structure. The same design-principle was used to build a structure near the entrance on the lower level of the temple. See the lower level cruciform cloister basin.
