Phnom Kulen: Preah Ang Thom Entrance

Advertisements

Preah Ang Thom Entrance
The image shows the entrance to Preah Ang Thom, which is a Buddhist monastery built sometime in the 16th century on top of a boulder in the Phnom Kulen National Park, Cambodia. It is home to a giant statue of Buddha in a reclining pose.

As you can see from the image, the staircase leading to the temple is flanked by the garuda balustrades, which resemble the Naga balustrades in Angkor Wat.
