Siamese Crocodile Farm
The image shows Siamese crocodiles relaxing inside a farm enclosure built on a pontoon floating on Lake Tonlé Sap. The wild Siamese crocodiles are native to Southeast Asia and are on the United Nations endangered species list. However, they are allowed to be farmed in Tonlé Sap.
Tonlé Sap is a freshwater lake located 30 miles south of Siem Reap in Cambodia. It is home to many floating villages inhabited mainly by the ethnic Vietnamese and Cham. They earn their livelihood by fishing and working on the crocodile farms.
