Boat ride on Kabini Backwaters
The early morning boat ride on the backwaters of the Kabini River is magical. In this two-hour ride, you feel like you are cruising through a paradise on earth. As the boat slowly cuts through the serene but deep waters of Kabini, you experience the beauty and grandeur of nature.
The Kabini backwaters is truly a nature’s gift to mankind. It is home to numerous bird species, some of which are resident and the others migratory. Many resident birds use the dead tree stumps in the river to nest. Many migratory birds stop over to look for prey. There is enough food for everybody.
On the banks of the backwaters, you see a few deer sprinting through the forest, while the others lazily graze or calmly drink water. Many families still live on the shores, earning their livelihood by growing rice and other agricultural produce.
