Inca Residential Quarters
The image shows the Inca residential quarters located on the Machu Picchu archaeological site in Peru.

Built at an elevation of 8000 feet on a mountain peak, Machu Picchu was a self-contained city in which the Inca people lived for about 100 years. It had agricultural terraces (andenes), underground and overground drainage systems, temples, royal tomb, astronomic observatories, and residential quarters (as shown in the image) for the nobility and common people. Machu Picchu is now considered one of the seven wonders of the modern world.
