Kartikeya (Skanda) riding a peacock in the Battle between Gods and Asuras
The image shows a section of the Gods Vs. Asuras bas-relief depicting a battle scene in which Kartikeya, the god of war, fighting the asuras (demons). This bas-relief is carved on the western section of the north gallery located on the perimeter of the lower level of the Angkor Wat Temple in Siem Reap, Cambodia.

As you can see from the image, Kartikeya is depicted with multiple heads and hands. Standing on a giant peacock named Parvani, he is ready to shoot arrows with the bows in his hands. Meanwhile, Parvani appears to be moving forward by taking giant strides above the warriors. Surrounding Kartikeya and Pavani are the devas and asuras engaged in hand-to-hand combat.
Kartikeya is one of the sons of Shiva and the brother of Ganesha. He is known by many names, including Skanda and Subramanya.
