Statue of Nandi the Bull in front of the eastern gopura
The Banteay Srei Temple complex is located 16 miles northeast of Siem Reap, Cambodia.

The damaged statue shown in the image is that of a bull known as Nandi, Shiva’s vehicle. It is in front of the east-facing facade of the eastern gopura built into the innermost enclosure wall of the temple. The gopura depicts Shiva’s cosmic dance (Shiva Tandava Nritya). His vehicle Nandi the Bull is appropriately placed in front of the gopura.
