The Dancers of Delphi
The Dancers of Delphi is believed to be the column that was holding the Omphalos stone in the adyton (inner sanctum) of the Temple of Apollo. It was likely that there was a tripod like structure – probably made of bronze  – between the heads of the dances and the Omphalos stone. The fragments of this sculpture were found near the Temple of Apollo during the excavation in 1894.
