The Hobbiton Movie Set is located on a private farm 6 miles southwest of Matamata in the Waikato farming region of New Zealand. This is where the Lord of the Rings and Hobbiton movie series were filmed, and it was created by Peter Jackson, the director of these movie series. The movie set became a tourist attraction after it became a permanent feature in this location in 2010.
