Mount Batur is located in the Kintamani region of Bali. This area is still a part of an active volcano and is full of black lava rocks.
Mt. Batur that we see today was formed during the volcanic eruption in 1917. It erupted three more times. The last one, which occurred in 1994, created many sub-craters.
