Sala de los Mocárabes (Hall of the Mocarabes)
The Hall of the Mocárabes is a part of the Palace of the Lions and is located west of the Court of the Lions. Check the Map of the Palace of the Lions for its location. The Palace of the Lions is one of the three Nasrid Palaces situated on the northern slopes of the Alhambra in Granada, Spain.
The image shows part of the ceiling, walls, and doorway. As you can see, the top parts of the walls are ornate with the Islamic Calligraphy and arabesques. A coat of arms covers part of the oval-shaped ceiling. The hall got its name because of a dome of the Mocárabes that covered the ceiling previously. It was dismantled after an explosion in the 16th century.
Although this hall is beautifully decorated, it is less glamorous than the other three halls surrounding the Court of the Lions. Visitors to the Court of the Lions enter this hall before walking to the other halls in the Palace of the Lions.
