A panoramic view
Located near the west coast of Turkey in the Aegean Sea, Patmos is a small island belonging to Greece. The image shows part of the island with three windmills and blue waters of the Aegean Sea with several islands in the far end.
Patmos is a popular tourist destination for a variety of reasons. Besides the spectacular scenery, the attractions include the cave where St. John the Evangelist spent later part of his life and wrote the Book of Revelation living there. It is known in the Christian world as the island of Apocalypse for this reason.
