Multnomah Falls – A view from the top
Located in the Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area, about 30 miles east of Portland, Oregon, Multnomah Falls is one of the most visited sites in the Pacific Northwest. This majestic waterfall is an all-season attraction, fed by a combination of rainwater, underground springs, and melting snow from Larch Mountain.
The image captures a breathtaking view from the top of the waterfall, where the crystal-clear waters from the feeder stream cascade into the depths of the rugged gorge below. Access to this vantage point is via the Larch Mountain Trail, which begins at the lower viewing platform near the Visitor Center.
The panoramic view of the falls and the surrounding Columbia River Gorge is truly awe-inspiring, making the 2.5-mile arduous hike to the top well worth the effort. At the summit, a wooden platform provides a perfect resting spot, allowing visitors to leisurely enjoy the stunning scenery.
