Moche animal erotic pottery
The ceramic pots shown in the image belong to the Moche culture that flourished in northern Peru from 100 CE to 700CE and was contemporary with the Nazca culture in the south. This pot is on display at Museo Larco in Lima, Peru.
As you can see from the image, the pots depict explicit sexual acts between animals. The museum also has pots that depict explicit sexual acts between a man and woman and a man and man.
The Moche people are known for their artistic expression, especially in their pottery, which is one of the most beautiful and artistic potteries in the world. The Moche pots are multi-colored and expressive, and they portray everyday life, rituals, deities, and animals.
One of the unusual aspects of Moche pottery is the depiction of explicit sex acts, including sex between a man and woman, a man and man, and between animals. It appears that the Moche society was never shy about their sexuality. Only the sculptures in the Khajuraho Temple, India, are more explicit than the erotic pottery of the Moche.
