Rock-cut throne in the eastern section of the summit
The view in the image shows the ruins of the structures in the eastern part of the rock summit. On the left part of the image is the rock-cut throne, still standing, defying the ravages of time.
It appears the throne is embedded into a pyramid-like structure, but in fact it was cut-out of the rock with the terraces built above and below it. Above the throne, a north-south path with multiple flights of steps cuts across the summit in the middle.
A flight of steps paved with limestone connects the lower terrace to the throne. Another flight of steps on the right side of the throne connects it to the central north-south path. The king likely came dowm this staircase from his palace above, and his courtiers stayed in the lower terrace and came up to meet him using the other staircase.
